About Your Tracker
How big is the DBDD GPS tracker?
In this article, you’ll find the weight and measurements of all DBDD GPS Trackers.
Size: 5.98"*3.39"*0.5"
Weight: 38 grams (1.34 ounces)
Recommended for dogs above 4kg (8.8 pounds)
What is the difference between a microchip and a GPS tracker?
Great question! Sometimes, a microchip and GPS pet tracker are mistaken for the same thing. However, they are two very different pieces of technology, used for different purposes.
Microchips:
are the size of a grain of rice and can therefore be implanted safely under the skin.
contain no GPS tracking or localization technology.
are used to identify a pet's owner when a lost dog or cat is already found and brought in to a shelter or veterinarian.
GPS trackers for dogs or cats:
continuously calculate the location of your pet using GPS satellites, enabling you to view your dog or cat's whereabouts in real-time in the companion app.
allow you to always know where your pet is and find them immediately if they get lost.
weigh about 38 grams and contain a battery pack, GPS antenna, GSM module, complete global positioning solution, compatible with satellites from all countries.etc.
Do I need cellular coverage for the DBDD GPS tracker to work?
Yes. The tracker contains an inbuilt SIM card and uses this to send data - such as your pet’s position - back to your app using cellular (mobile) networks. Good cell coverage ensures the tracker can maintain a stable connection and send you position updates at regular intervals. Thanks to our agreements with our 500+ partners across the world, our trackers can connect to all of their major 2G and/or LTE (CatM1) cell networks in over 175 countries!
In general, the DBDD GPS works wherever your cell phone works. However, it’s important to note that the tracker does not connect to exactly the same networks as your smartphone. The tracker cannot connect to as many frequency bands as a cell phone; this is necessary to ensure the tracker has a useful battery life despite its small size. Occasionally, the frequency bands the tracker can access may have limited coverage in some areas. However, the tracker will always connect to the most stable network it can find at the time.
How does data sync from the tracker to my phone?
Data is synced to your phone via Bluetooth. Just make sure Bluetooth is active on your mobile device and the tracker is turned on and placed next to your phone.
Click on the map page, the second button in the middle of the right side of the screen is the refresh icon, and after about 5 seconds, you can view the latest data in your account.
Pet Profile: How-To Guide
In the DBDD GPS app, the Pet Profile contains all the most important information about your dog or cat in one simple and easy-to-access place.
After signing into the DBDD GPS mobile app on your smartphone, access the Pet Profile by tapping the Profile button anytime.
There you can add and edit the following details about your furry friend!
IMEI number,Pet photos,Name,Pet type,Birthday,Sex,Weight,Height.
You'll also see an overview of your pet's Activity Statistics:step and Sleep
Do I need Wi-Fi to use the DBDD GPS tracker?
No. You don’t specifically need Wi-Fi to use the DBDD GPS tracker. However, the smartphone on which you’re running the app, does require an internet connection - this connection can come from Wi-Fi or cellular data on your phone.
Is the DBDD GPS waterproof?
Yes! DBDD GPS devices do not have sim-card openings or USB ports and are therefore not only protected against splashing water, but are also fully waterproof (up to 1 meter depth, 30 minutes) according to IP67-standard. As a result, DBDD GPS devices are perfectly suitable for water-loving pets and can, of course, be used in the rain.
Can the DBDD GPS tracker be used for other purposes?
Our trackers were developed with pets in mind, specifically cats and dogs, but they’re also ideal for tracking other animals, such as horses, cattle, goats or sheep.
You could also use your DBDD GPS device for your car, bicycle, or luggage, for example, but please keep in mind that each device has its own integrated SIM card and thus requires its own subscription plan.
About Your App
What is the difference between Live and Radar on the map screen?
LIVE Tracking provides real-time location updates from your pet’s tracker. When LIVE is activated, your tracker will send location updates every 2-3 seconds. This feature allows you to see the exact location and movements of your pet in real-time on the DBDD map.
The Radar function is designed to track the distance between you and your dog. When activated, it records the range during exercise, including the radar scanning circle getting larger when the distance is closer and smaller when the distance is farther.
How can I delete a Virtual Fence?
To start receiving alerts when your pet leaves or enters a certain area, you can easily set up Virtual Fences in your account.
You can choose between:
- Safe Zones, which are spaces you are generally happy for your pet to be, and
- No-Go Zones, which signify more dangerous places, such as an area with wild animals.
Once you have set up your customizable Virtual Fence, you and anyone you have shared your tracker with will begin receiving notifications when your pet enters or leaves one of these areas. Each tracker allows you to create an unlimited number of virtual fences.
In the DBDD GPS mobile app:
- Tap Profile > Tracker > Virtual Fences.
- Tap Add Fence.
- Set the name, shape, and icon of your Virtual Fence and confirm if it should be a Safe Zone or No-Go Zone. Virtual Fences can be circular, rectangular, or in a customizable shape.
- Drag the green/red dot located on the perimeter of the Virtual Fence to make it bigger or smaller.
- Tap and hold the center of the Virtual Fence to move it to your desired location.
How do Virtual Fence notifications work?
Once your tracker detects that your pet has crossed the boundary of a Virtual Fence (Safe Zone or No-Go Zone) that you have set up, you and anyone you have shared your tracker with will receive a notification.
When in default tracking mode, your tracker detects a new position every 2 minutes or so when your pet is on the move. In LIVE tracking mode, you get position updates every 2-3 seconds. This means that Virtual Fence notifications are typically sent within a couple of minutes when in default tracking mode, and practically instantly in LIVE tracking mode.
Please keep in mind that you need to be logged in to your account on
your cell phone to receive push notifications.
What is the minimum size for a Virtual Fence?
The minimum size of the Virtual Fence is as follows:
Circular: No minimum size,
Rectangular: No minimum size,
Custom shape: No minimum size, but you will be informed if the Virtual Fence is too small to provide you with accurate notifications so you have the option of making it larger.

Waterproof Design: The tracker may feature a sealed design for waterproofing, which can limit the output volume.
